Owned and operated by the Arroyo-Rochte family, the Sloth Sanctuary is located in the 320-acre Aviarios del Caribe Private Reserve. We are legally classified as a wildlife reserve by the Costa Rican government and our governing body, MINAE. We do not receive subsidies and are now recognized as a non-profit organization (Asociacion Centro de Rescate de Perezosos Buttercup) with your donations directly supporting the rescued sloths in our care and promote rainforest conservation awareness to protect wild sloths and the future of their species.
